Global Mining Guidelines Group (GMG)
The Global Mining Guidelines Group (GMG) is a not-for-profit organization that fosters global collaboration and innovation in the mining industry by bringing together operators, technology providers, researchers, and other stakeholders to develop guidelines, frameworks, and best practices that enhance safety, sustainability, and productivity. Established in 2012 and now operating as an independent entity, GMG provides an open platform for sharing knowledge and aligning industry efforts around critical topics such as automation, electrification, data interoperability, and digital transformation, helping the mining sector accelerate responsible and efficient technological adoption worldwide.
Indigenous Centre of Excellence for Mineral Development (ICEMD)
The Indigenous Centre of Excellence for Mineral Development (ICEMD) focuses on research and development of leading practices, information gathering and reporting on various mining initiatives that will help build the capacity of Indigenous people with respect to the mining industry in Canada and assist industry and government by supporting increased awareness of protocols for Indigenous engagement, consultation and consent.
Canadian Critical Minerals & Materials Alliance (C2M2A)
C2M2A’s mission is to foster and enhance Canada’s role as a leader in the production of critical materials manufacturing in support of the global transition to a low-carbon, clean-growth economy. By focusing on rapidly advancing the establishment of economic critical materials production and manufacturing capacity — at commercial scale — Canada will secure and grow its economy, compete globally and protect our environment.
Battery Metals Association of Canada (BMAC)
The Battery Metals Association of Canada (BMAC) is a national non-profit trade association that brings together entrepreneurs, explorers, developers, and producers to support the responsible and sustainable growth of Canada’s battery metals supply chain. With a focus on collaboration across the entire value chain—from exploration and processing to production—BMAC works to ensure Canada fully leverages its vast resources and economic potential. Through industry events, networking, and strategic initiatives such as its living ecosystem map, the association connects stakeholders, drives innovation, and positions Canada as a global leader in the battery metals industry.
Co. Innovation Centre
The Co. Innovation Centre (COIC) is an industry-led innovation hub located in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, designed as a dynamic space where established and emerging companies converge, collaborate, and co-create, especially those focused on remote‑operations sectors such as ocean, energy, healthcare, mining, fisheries, transportation, and defense. Officially launched in December 2022 and opened in June 2024, this 54,000 sq ft facility—strategically situated near St. John’s International Airport—offers flexible workspaces, R&D and testing facilities, demonstration areas, and programming that unite stakeholders to drive innovation, support technological development, and empower the province’s economic growth.
MILA Quebec
Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, is recognized worldwide for its major contributions to AI. Today, the Mila community boasts the largest concentration of deep learning academic researchers globally. The institute is recognized for its expertise and significant contributions in areas such as modeling language, machine translation, object recognition and generative models. Since its inception, Mila focuses its mission on core research areas such as health, environment and climate change, and AI ethics. Mila extends its expertise and leadership in AI to deliver advances that will benefit all of society. Research carried out at Mila is conducted using an Open Science approach to promote collaboration and foster knowledge transfer.

Innovation Asset Collective (IAC) is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization funded by the Government of Canada that helps Canadian cleantech small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) grow by using intellectual property (IP) strategically. They provide tools, funding, resources, and expert guidance so companies can uncover, protect, and leverage the value of their IP — including education, patent insights, access to a collective patent portfolio, and support for building stronger IP strategies that boost competitiveness and global growth.
